BENGALURU: DK Suresh, the Congress candidate from Bangalore Rural, and Prajwal Revanna, the JD(S) nominee from the Hassan Lok Sabha seat, seeking re-election from their respective constituencies in the Lok Sabha elections, have both seen remarkable increases in their assets since 2019, according to Election Commission of India (ECI) data.
Affidavits filed with ECI, along with their nomination papers on Thursday, reveal Suresh, the brother of Karnataka Congress president and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar, now boasts of assets worth Rs 593 crore - a 75% surge compared to his disclosure before the 2019 elections.

Prajwal has declared assets worth Rs 40.8 crore this time around - marking an eye-popping 300% increase over the 2019 figures. A detailed analysis of Suresh's affidavit shows an increase in both his movable and immovable assets.
His movable assets have seen a remarkable escalation from Rs 33 crore in 2019 to Rs 106 crore in 2024, a growth of 220%. His immovable assets over the same timeframe have soared from Rs 305 crore to Rs 486 crore, representing a robust 59% increase.
Residing in Doddalahalli, Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagar district, Suresh's property portfolio encompasses residential holdings in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, Ramapura Doddi in Kanakapura, and an apartment in Salarpuria Sattva Divinity at Pantharapalya, Kengeri Hobli. These are collectively valued at Rs 27.1 crore.
Suresh's liabilities have also witnessed a substantial uptick, escalating by 188%. While his total liabilities in 2019 amounted to Rs 51.9 crore, they currently stand at Rs 150 crore.
His affidavit with ECI shows three pending criminal cases against him, stemming from incidents during the Mekedatu padayatra and alleged violations of the poll code of conduct. While police have filed a 'B' report regarding the violation of poll code of conduct, cases pertaining to the padayatra under the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act remain unresolved before the high court of Karnataka.

Revanna, BJP-JD(S) coalition candidate and grandson of former PM Deve Gowda, seeking re-election from Hassan Lok Sabha seat, disclosed assets valued at Rs 40.8 crore - a surge of more than 300% over his 2019 net worth.
In his affidavit filed with ECI, Revanna revealed liabilities of Rs 4.4 crore and declared ownership of two firearms -- a pistol and a rifle.
The 34-year-old mechanical engineer declared movable assets worth Rs 5.4 crore, including deposits, investments, loans and jewellery. He also has immovable assets worth Rs 35.84 crore.
